Probably every one of you knows Orpheus. He was one of the biggest poets and musicians from Greek Antiquity. He can sing and play on his lyre so beautifully that every man or animal was charmed by it. That's why there is no surprise his name is still connected with any kind of musical events around the world. One of them is also Krewe of Orpheus.Krewe of Orpheus is New Orleans' parade which was founded in 1993 by Harry Connick, Jr. and Sr. and Sonny Borey. The main feature of this celebration consists of its music-basement it means this parade is a kind of celebration where the biggest number of celebrities appeared. I have to admit I have never heard about the Krewe of Orpheus and this is the first time I have read about it, but from what I know about it now, it looks like good show and funny event which is worth to take part. This year will be the stars of this celebration Sandy Denton and Cheryl James better known as Salt N' Pepa from the 1980s rap due. They are helping a family with rebuilding their house destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and making a document about it for VH1 TV Channel. Moreover they will be one of the superstars of this year's parade. As the web site of the Krewe of Orpheus says this parade is "synonymous with diversity" and this diversity is shown on the celebrities' selection for this year. Chris Cantell Discusses Travel: Atlantis is prepared for launch day by Terezia Palickova

NASA (Jan. 30): "Our Managers formally set the launch of space shuttle Atlantis for Feb. 7 "At 2:45 p.m. EST. should start the Spaceship. But there is one problem. During inspection on Tuesday it was found a braided metal hose, which carries Freon to cool the shuttle's system. The problem was fixed. And the inspectors will meet at Saturday to evaluate all information about the hose again. The Space Shuttle Program Manager Wayne Hale says: "I'm feeling very positive we'll come to a good conclusion." So it seems that there are no other problems which could stop the vehicle from its flight. Stephen Frick is the one who will enjoy the beautiful view of the Earth from the space. "It's just astounding and amazing" he says. "It's more beautiful than the highest mountaintop you have ever seen. " The very critical moment as he says was his first mission. As they were flying above the Pacific he just realized the real beauty and hugeness of it and than suddenly he saw the Hawaiian Island passing underneath them. It was the best sight ever. "It really burned into my memory". He also describes his feelings when he first stood on the board. He always feels very busy at the beginning of the flight. He also feels a little uncomfortable in the special suit looking into the never ending darkness of the space in front of them. So, for now there is everything prepared for the next launch to the space, everybody from NASA is really excited and can't wait till Feb. 7.

Stewart International Airport is for many people one of the less famous airports of New York. It is located south from Hudson Valley just 55 miles from New York. In the first half of 20th century it was a military base for aviation cadets. Later it became the major passenger airport for the mid-Hudson region. It also serves as a military airfield or in case of need the place where the space shuttle can land.Because of increasing problems with overcrowded Kennedy International Airport, Newark and La Guardia Airports, a situation is starting to be indefensible. The problem should work out a new project of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. They have huge plans with this airport. It should become a state-of-the-art facility, a place which will attract a lot of old as well as new passengers. It also has other important issues. It should become a medium that will bring a new economical power to the region and development in aviation. According to the general manager of the airport, it would serve about 900, 000 travelers of not only charters but international flights as well in 2008. Stewart offers to the travelers easy way how to get to the airport, comfortable parking and terminals, cheaper flights, fast service and also time that passengers spend in Skybuse is shorter. And this is not enough. In the close future there are supposed to be built stores, restaurant and terminals that will be based on green energy like a contrast to the gas emissions of plans.

Now, I would like to explain you some rules which you must keep if you are really interested on travelling to space. First you would pass a military tests which consist of simulation of space flight conditions. These tests will designed us your personal wellbeing or in other cases your not so well being. After that only if you pass the previous test you can continue to other one. How more prepared you are for the physical and mental demands of spaceflight, you'll enjoy more your suborbital flight. We think you'll love your training flights in the L-39 and MiG-21, but there's a slight chance you'll discover you can't tolerate high Gs or don't like being weightless.This information is very importatnt for you because if you can't tolerate some conditions you can't continue your training hours and you will leave your lessons without paying something. Now, we can say that you are a winner if you have passed your exams.So everything looks perfect, you are prepared maybe but is this everithing you know? What about money? I will survive during the real space flight? There is nothing for free, or course. You spend about 200,000 dollars and this amount is not available for everyone which brings me back an idea that this can be one of the various cons of this courses. Finally I can tell you that spaceflights are very popular and almost everybody dreams that one day in their life they would feel the liberty and the beauty of the Universe.Then they would enjoy the unique seeing to our planet, the Earth.

He hopes to demonstrate that the new generation of private spaceflight explorers can contribute to science in the same way as the previous generation of government astronauts have.Garriott is paying about $30 million for his expedition. He is going to be the sixth paying visitor during his father's mission on the ISS. He is going to launch in the fall 2008 under agreement between Russia's Federal Space Agency and the Virginia-based firm Space Adventures.

Brazil is a country famous for many things like customs, women, the weather, but mostly for the carnival's unsurpassed beauty. The most famous carnival is held in Rio and although for many tourists it is just a show, for the local people it is a serious competition. Each samba group receives grades in ten categories ranging from their floats and costumes to how well they move thousands of dancers through the half-mile Sambadrome stadium parade ground. Everything is decided by forty judges and the perfect score is 400, which this year samba group Beija Flor was very close in reaching it. For the fifth time in six years Beija Flor whose winning parade honored legends of the Amazon rain forest was declared Brazil's carnival champion. The judges graded them with a nearly perfect score of 399.3 and like always they dominated the competition. However their joy was shadowed by the shooting that took place in front of Beija Flor's headquarters during the title celebrations late Wednesday, according to Globo TV's G1 Web site. Three people were injured and of them are hospitalized. The cause of the attack is still unknown by the local police who suspects that the party that took place inside the headquarters might have triggered everything. This was not the only incident that marked Beija Flor their reputation being marred by accusations that directors conspired to steal last year's championship by intimidating judges. On the second place it was Salgueiro group with a score of 398 for its parade, which honored the city of Rio de Janeiro. The judges also penalized Sao Clemente group for breaking a rule against display of genitalia during its 80-minute parade. Everyone thinks that the culprit was none other than the samba queen Viviane Castro, who danced wearing only a 1.6-inch patch, believed to be the smallest in Rio parade history. Like all events, the carnival was marked by some incidents. The Viradouro group, who ranked the 7th, initially wanted to parade with a dancer dressed as Hitler and float covered in naked Holocaust victims. This is what I always do every single Saturday morning. I wake up with that beatific feeling of having day off, of being free, there's no schedule, there are no deadlines I have to observe, all I am supposed to do is relaxing. Well, after getting up with such an amazing mood, I go downstairs, grab newspapers and make myself a cup o strong black coffee (I can feel that smell even if I'm just writing about it!), sit down and just enjoy that moment (all of that I'm doing in my old comfy pyjamas). I briefly browse the pages to know what's going on while slowly sipping the hot beverage. At this point my idyll usually ends as my always-on-line-brother comes in, gives me derisive stare and says something satiric about how foolish and ancient I am because of this my old-fashioned habit of reading old-fashioned piece of paper (he though I had never heard about internet) while drinking that old-fashioned drink (he though I had never heard about latte or another modern coffee fake). But being interested in news and newspapers doesn't necessarily mean the lack of being high-tech.Just take a measure, the new journalism museum & Newseum - in Washington, D.C. is about to invite first visitors with its doors wide open. If you are expecting some dust bowl articles such as letterpress printing machine from some God forgotten year or some boring tractate about important American journalists, you'll be probably surprised (in a positive way). This museum offers, for example, interactive kiosk where you can experience being reporter, editor or photographer or 4D movie (movie that is not only about seeing and hearing, but also about smelling and moving your seat). Does this sound old-fashioned? Oh, and let's mention entrance fee. $20.00 is not old-fashioned in any case.

The new aircraft is going to fly daily on the Singapore - London route. The first flight of the second one is planned on March 18. The company has got its second superjumbo plane since Jan. 11. This is ready to help the first A380 on the route from Singapore to Sydney. Many people from all over the world would like to become passengers on the first flight. Everything what was earned with the first flight sale of tickets was donated to charities. Every applicant could take a part on eBay tickets auction. The positive thing is that all winners, that pay a lot of money for their plane tickets, could help someone that needs it. All first & ever commercial A380 travelers received a certificate, which validated their attendance. A380 is the double&decker plain. It is the plain that has most space inside a plane on the world. He is planning a mission to an International Space Station (ISS) in October 2008 and he is paying about $30 million for this experience.The spaceflight is the first in a series of missions that will accommodate commercial activity aboard the ISS. The whole mission is secure by the agreement between Russia's Federal Space Agency and Space Adventures. Space Adventures, Ltd., is the world's leading space experience company that now provides the opportunity to train as a private space explorer alongside one of its orbital spaceflight candidates, among professional astronauts. The training for Garriott's commercial mission to the ISS has already begun in Russia. He is at the Yuri Gagarin Training Center, which is named after the astronaut who orbited space in April 1961. Garriott is spending there six weeks because of initial medical checks and the first round of training for space flight a Soyuz spacecraft.Garriott has to learn a lot before his space flight. At first it is Russian language. According to his own words it is not easy as he has never learned a second language. Secondly he has to learn about onboard systems as well as theories.He plans to spend in the space approximately nine days. In 2009 it will be exactly 30 years since the Rally Paris-Dakar has started its history. During these three decades the original rout from Paris to Dakar in Senegal have changed several times. This prestigious race has had its winners, losers, tragedies or unpleasant moments, as for example 2008 when the rally had to be canceled because of terrorist threats. Rally also has to face a lot of criticism. The main issues are race's impact on environment and inhabitants of the countries through which it passes. The rally also got critics for passing through non-decolonized territory of Western Sahara , where the Sahrawi people live. But since 2000 this has not been an issue since rally's official got permission for passing through the country. Another scandalous moment came after the race in 1988, when Dakar's news agency described the death of three Africans, who were killed in collision with vehicles involved in the race, as "insignificant for the race's organizers." Hard words were written by The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, in which the race was called a "vulgar display of power and wealth in places where men continue to die from hunger and thirst." In 2002, at the race's start in Arras, France, demonstrating members of a Green Party of France called the rally a "colonialism that needs to be eradicated." † According to residents who live along the race's rout the rally brings them very few benefits. The rally participants spend only little money on the goods and services and produce great amounts of dust, hit and kill livestock and occasionally also injure people.

If you are expecting line-up of bears you will be probably disappointed, but as soon as you are coming here with hope, but still prepared for the possibility you will see nothing, you have the biggest chance come away from here with incredible experience and lot of photographs. Hodgenville is a small town where Abraham Lincoln 16th president of the United States of America was born in 1809. Now this place is proud and it embraces him as a native son. Although there are places more famously connected with this president. Many of Americans think Lincoln came from Illinois. Only several of them know that president was born in Kentucky. But locals believe in changes that could come after 200th anniversary. The celebration started on February 12. There are going to be organized more events during a year. People who live there hope the world will know about existence of their small town. Hodgenville is a central Kentucky town where live about 3,000 residents. It was established several years after Lincoln's family moved to Indiana. Visitors who come to the town, they can have feelings that Lincoln is still alive. They can visit the Lincoln Museum with a fresh paint. Visitors can admire here a portrait of this famous person in a life size. Outside, there is a Lincoln statue as the centerpiece of town square. A bank, an elementary school and consignment shop are named by Lincoln. Predictions are talking about twice as many visitors of the Lincoln Museum this year. Usually there come about 30,000 visitors per year. New statue will be unveiled on May 31st in Hodgenville. It will display Lincoln as a child. Visitors are usually interested in shopping in small downtown gift shop. They are searching for magnets, books, collectible coins, artwork or Lincoln dolls as part of a presidential series.

Imagine the situation: During the year you can't wait to see your friends whose are from Washington. You have met them last summer and they invited you to come there for holidays in December. Yes, that is great idea and you can't believe that today is the day with "D" and you are leaving for 2 weeks. Packing was quite quick. You are waiting on the aiport thinking about your friends from Washington..."What will I say them? I hope they will like my presents for them!..." Suddenly, you realise that it's too late and your flight is supposed to be here. Then you look at board. "Delay", oh no! Ok, it doesn't matter. You will buy some magazines. But after waiting over 4 hours your flight has been canceled. You are so dissapointed. Maybe you will meet your friends the next year...if you get there... Yes, it is not very nice situation and always when I travel somewhere I wish to not happen it. But it is very possible and people in USA are used to wait on an airport. More than 26 percent of commercial flights arrived late or were canceled last year. Specially in Decenber, it is the most critic month mostly because of the wheather.Passengers had problem to get to their destination in 2000 as well, when more than 27 percent of flights were tardy or canceled. In comparison with year 2007, there were 31 percent fewer flights than in 2007. So we can say that year 2007 is the second worst year. And reason? There are more reasons like just only one. One is that airlines continue to replace large aircraft with smaller ones. By this way they want to save some money by flying with fewer empty seats. But there are also disadvantages & more flights, more congestion and delays.It should be fixed early because people are angry, there is nothing to do if your flight late and airlines are losing their profits.

Don't mess with the law, because it will eventually get you. Cruise lines such as Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. faces the law after Florida's attorney general Bill McCollum has received 150 complaints from customers regarding the fuel surcharge the cruise lines started billing this month to offset rising fuel prices, according to spokeswoman Sandi Copes. Because the charge was announced in November by both cruise lines and it began to be applied on voyages beginning February 1, they might get away. Copes said in an e-mail that they are verifying if the disclosure was adequate and consumers were aware of surcharges up front at the point of sale. In November, Carnival Chairman and Chief Executive Micky Arison said the price the company had paid for fuel increased 140 percent over the last three years and therefore they have to introduce these surcharges of $5 per person, per day fuel "supplement." Both Miami-based cruise lines, Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., said the charge applies only to the first and second guests in each stateroom and does not exceed $70 per person, per voyage. Other cruise operators also have added fuel surcharges. Nevertheless this fuel surcharge might come against a 1997 state settlement stemming from accusations of misleading advertising on "port charges" that included additional fees to cover the cost of fuel, fresh water and wages. At that time several cruise lines, including Carnival and Royal Caribbean, agreed not to charge extra unless they were for taxes or government fees. Both companies said in email or statements that they took care for no laws to be broken and they see the surcharge as fair and reasonable. Also, they added that the price would fluctuate as the fuel price fluctuates. The two companies' stock prices slipped at the news of the report and the investigation. Carnival shares were down 84 cents to $41.19, while Royal Caribbean shares were down $1.32 to $37.86. Stay connected and see what will the law do next.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is very popular place, specially for its typical carnival with samba and rhythms of Frevo or Maracatu. It is quite difficult to write about it for person who has never been there but maybe it is also difficult for person who has been there because you can show pictures and say people what's going on but if you want to understand and feel it, you just have to be there. "It is impossible to just describe it you have to live it!" Music, atmosphere, dancers are great and amazing.The most popular and biggest carnival started in Rio de Janeiro on Friday. Brazilian Rio was living with carnival, crazy masks, music and dancing. This celebration is one of the biggest events during the year. People take days off from work and everybody prepares for the celebration very carefully. City is full of dancers, transvestites and tourists. There have been about 700 thousands of visitors including 210 thousands of strangers. They could see performances of 12 Rio's top samba groups and competition between them as well. There was not allowed to buy alcohol in streets because government just enjoined it. Government also appealed to people to celebrate responsible and city distributed 19.5 million of condoms free. Emption of one milliard condoms in the last year has been the biggest one in the world. It is evidence that Brazil is really interested in problems about venereal diseases. There had been some arguments before the carnival started, for example dispute about wages of cops whose have been liable for security in the streets or about one samba group with float featuring Holocaust victims.Visitors could meet there famous stars like Lucy Liu, Monica Bellucci or supermodel Naomi Campbell. Beauty Queen Angela Bismarchi inserted nylon wires into her eyes in order to look more oriental. She wants to set the world's record for most surgeries. It has been her 42 plastic surgery but record stands at 47. I really wish to visit Rio, see and feel the atmosphere of carnival and I think that there are a lot of people whose have the same wish and I hope that one day we will visit the wonderful carnival in Rio de Janeiro.

Going to space is the only stone left for this explorer and a lifelong dream. He is a man, who experienced the icy Antarctica to the watery depths of Titanic. Just because he paid his own way to space he doesn't like to be called space tourist. "I will have worked just as hard to get there and I will be doing work I consider just as valuable in orbit. So please just call me a private astronaut or cosmonaut," he said. His flight will also accommodate commercial activity aboard the ISS. It will include scientific and environmental research and educational outreach programming.The preparation already has been underway for some time. He has already had to go through medical tests, which included psychological tests. For this upcoming time, most of his actual training will be pretty significant and serious, starting with things like survival training just in case the capsule comes to the ground off target.

In the year 2001 Dennis Tito, an American millionaire, became the first "fee-paying" space tourist when he visited the International Space Station (ISS) for seven days. He paid for his own ticket for about $ 20 million. After Tito there were four other space tourists of course everyone was multimillionaire. He was followed in 2002 by South African computer millionaire Mark Shuttleworth. The third was Gregory Olsen in 2005. After the Columbia disaster, space tourism on the Russian Soyuz program was temporarily put on hold, because Soyuz spacecrafts became the only available transport to the ISS. However, in 2006, space tourism was resumed. In 2006, Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian American woman, became the fourth space tourist better spaceflight participant. In 2007, Charles Simonyi, an American billionaire of Hungarian descent, joined their ranks as last. And who will be the next?The space flights are full booked for nearest few years. The first and only space line Virgin Galactic had pre- sold more than 200 seats for their space tourism flights, according to company 's president .The first to reach the orbit should be Richard Garriott, American video game developer, whose father was cosmonaut with NASA. His flight is expected in October 2008. After him there will be the first Russian space traveler Vladimir Gruzdev, member of State Duma. He is expected to fly in 2009. Gruzdev is a United Russia pro-presidential party member. The United Russia party may pay the estimated $25 million for the flight from the party funds.

I didn't miss that the US Dollar is surprisingly weaker and weaker everyday,but hey,its not our fault.Currently is 1 EUR approximately 15 USD.Well,no wonder that Europeans are flowing to New York by that exchange rate.I`ve been to US myself and I know how much u can buy for 15 dollars.A pack of cigarettes,one beer,some ice cream and some nice T-shirt.How much can u buy for 1 euro?well lets see what u get for one euro.You get next to nothing.You can buy a bottle of water,or a newspaper.Its not even enough for a single way subway ticket.So why not getting on the on the plane to New York for a weekend,or a week-to experience some culture,have a nice dinner,few drinks in Manhattan,to shop from 8 in the morning till 8 in the evening and all that for the half-price.Cause Europe is so expensive after all.

It's sunny warm day, you are lazy lying on the beach, perfect tan and perfect body, exotic drink in one hand, the other is too busy waving to that handsome stranger that has just passed by. †The blue sea is calling you to enjoy the waves , sand is white and the city is awaiting you tonight, offering plenty of ways how to seize the day (and night). Your hotel room is comfortable with wonderful view, exotic colors, †romantic coves.Isn't it a nice dream? Because when it comes to my experiences, the picture of †perfect holiday seem like a dream to me. After spending few days on vacation, I need another few days to recover, to relax, to forget. †It usually begins like this. The flight is always cancelled or delayed so I have to wait and wait and wait. Then my suitcases always got lost. Always! At this point, I'm still optimistic, the chimera of doing nothing in following ten days keeps me away from being hysteric. And it's really good reason to do some shopping, too! Then I get to the hotel. All I can see from your window is backyard with some dudes having really loud argue, waving their hands, breaking stuff, getting each other hurt. Never mind. †All I need is the sea of green and sky of blue and everything's gonna be fine and forgotten. But, it's difficult to define the color of the sea as it is dirty and grim. The sky is clouded and I know I can easily go mad on the place like this. Actually, after eating so-called national food that should have been specialty (I don't want to name any names), I spend most of your time in bathroom swearing to God I will stay home for the rest of my life. Or maybe this year I can finally break †my bad luck?

NEXT SPACE TOURIST by Veronika Glosova

Computer game developer and the son of former NASA astronaut Owen Garriott, Richard Garriott, will be the next space tourist after Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, Greg Olsen, Anousheh Ansari and Charles Simonyi . He is planning a mission to an International Space Station (ISS) in October 2008 and he is paying about $30 million for this experience.The spaceflight is the first in a series of missions that will accommodate commercial activity aboard the ISS. The whole mission is secure by the agreement between Russia's Federal Space Agency and Space Adventures. Space Adventures, Ltd., is the world's leading space experience company that now provides the opportunity to train as a private space explorer alongside one of its orbital spaceflight candidates, among professional astronauts. The training for Garriott's commercial mission to the ISS has already begun in Russia. He is at the Yuri Gagarin Training Center, which is named after the astronaut who orbited space in April 1961. Garriott is spending there six weeks because of initial medical checks and the first round of training for space flight a Soyuz spacecraft.Garriott has to learn a lot before his space flight. At first it is Russian language. According to his own words it is not easy as he has never learned a second language. Secondly he has to learn about onboard systems as well as theories.He plans to spend in the space approximately nine days. Imagine the situation: During the year you can't wait to see your friends whose are from Washington. You have met them last summer and they invited you to come there for holidays in December. Yes, that is great idea and you can't believe that today is the day with "D" and you are leaving for 2 weeks. Packing was quite quick. You are waiting on the aiport thinking about your friends from Washington..."What will I say them? I hope they will like my presents for them!..." Suddenly, you realise that it's too late and your flight is supposed to be here. Then you look at board. "Delay", oh no! Ok, it doesn't matter. You will buy some magazines. But after waiting over 4 hours your flight has been canceled. You are so dissapointed. Maybe you will meet your friends the next year...if you get there... Yes, it is not very nice situation and always when I travel somewhere I wish to not happen it. But it is very possible and people in USA are used to wait on an airport. More than 26 percent of commercial flights arrived late or were canceled last year. Specially in Decenber, it is the most critic month mostly because of the wheather.Passengers had problem to get to their destination in 2000 as well, when more than 27 percent of flights were tardy or canceled. In comparison with year 2007, there were 31 percent fewer flights than in 2007. So we can say that year 2007 is the second worst year. And reason? There are more reasons like just only one. One is that airlines continue to replace large aircraft with smaller ones. By this way they want to save some money by flying with fewer empty seats. But there are also disadvantages & more flights, more congestion and delays.It should be fixed early because people are angry, there is nothing to do if your flight late and airlines are losing their profits.

Too expensive to cruise by Claudia Sonea

Don't mess with the law, because it will eventually get you. Cruise lines such as Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. faces the law after Florida's attorney general Bill McCollum has received 150 complaints from customers regarding the fuel surcharge the cruise lines started billing this month to offset rising fuel prices, according to spokeswoman Sandi Copes. Because the charge was announced in November by both cruise lines and it began to be applied on voyages beginning February 1, they might get away. Copes said in an e-mail that they are verifying if the disclosure was adequate and consumers were aware of surcharges up front at the point of sale. In November, Carnival Chairman and Chief Executive Micky Arison said the price the company had paid for fuel increased 140 percent over the last three years and therefore they have to introduce these surcharges of $5 per person, per day fuel "supplement." Both Miami-based cruise lines, Carnival Corp. and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., said the charge applies only to the first and second guests in each stateroom and does not exceed $70 per person, per voyage. Other cruise operators also have added fuel surcharges. Nevertheless this fuel surcharge might come against a 1997 state settlement stemming from accusations of misleading advertising on "port charges" that included additional fees to cover the cost of fuel, fresh water and wages. At that time several cruise lines, including Carnival and Royal Caribbean, agreed not to charge extra unless they were for taxes or government fees. Both companies said in email or statements that they took care for no laws to be broken and they see the surcharge as fair and reasonable. Also, they added that the price would fluctuate as the fuel price fluctuates. The two companies' stock prices slipped at the news of the report and the investigation. Carnival shares were down 84 cents to $41.19, while Royal Caribbean shares were down $1.32 to $37.86. Stay connected and see what will the law do next.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is very popular place, specially for its typical carnival with samba and rhythms of Frevo or Maracatu. It is quite difficult to write about it for person who has never been there but maybe it is also difficult for person who has been there because you can show pictures and say people what's going on but if you want to understand and feel it, you just have to be there. "It is impossible to just describe it you have to live it!" Music, atmosphere, dancers are great and amazing.The most popular and biggest carnival started in Rio de Janeiro on Friday. Brazilian Rio was living with carnival, crazy masks, music and dancing. This celebration is one of the biggest events during the year. People take days off from work and everybody prepares for the celebration very carefully. City is full of dancers, transvestites and tourists. There have been about 700 thousands of visitors including 210 thousands of strangers. They could see performances of 12 Rio's top samba groups and competition between them as well. There was not allowed to buy alcohol in streets because government just enjoined it. Government also appealed to people to celebrate responsible and city distributed 19.5 million of condoms free. Emption of one milliard condoms in the last year has been the biggest one in the world. It is evidence that Brazil is really interested in problems about venereal diseases. There had been some arguments before the carnival started, for example dispute about wages of cops whose have been liable for security in the streets or about one samba group with float featuring Holocaust victims.Visitors could meet there famous stars like Lucy Liu, Monica Bellucci or supermodel Naomi Campbell. Beauty Queen Angela Bismarchi inserted nylon wires into her eyes in order to look more oriental. She wants to set the world's record for most surgeries. It has been her 42 plastic surgery but record stands at 47. I really wish to visit Rio, see and feel the atmosphere of carnival and I think that there are a lot of people whose have the same wish and I hope that one day we will visit the wonderful carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
