Cruise ship Carnival Splendor arrived safely to the San Diego port on November 11 after spending several days at sea without power. Six tug boats guided Carnival Splendor to the port with nearly 4,500 passengers and crew aboard. These had to put up with challenging conditions for three days as an engine room fire caused the loss of power. Pools and casinos were shut down so people did not get much of fun they originally signed up for. Fortunately, cold water was running aboard due to generators. Basically, there was nothing to do for passengers but to wait for the next mealtime. So, they passed their time singing, playing cards or simply chatting.
