Rio de Janeiro in Brazil is very popular place, specially for its typical carnival with samba and rhythms of Frevo or Maracatu. It is quite difficult to write about it for person who has never been there but maybe it is also difficult for person who has been there because you can show pictures and say people what's going on but if you want to understand and feel it, you just have to be there. "It is impossible to just describe it you have to live it!" Music, atmosphere, dancers are great and amazing.The most popular and biggest carnival started in Rio de Janeiro on Friday. Brazilian Rio was living with carnival, crazy masks, music and dancing. This celebration is one of the biggest events during the year. People take days off from work and everybody prepares for the celebration very carefully. City is full of dancers, transvestites and tourists. There have been about 700 thousands of visitors including 210 thousands of strangers. They could see performances of 12 Rio's top samba groups and competition between them as well. There was not allowed to buy alcohol in streets because government just enjoined it. Government also appealed to people to celebrate responsible and city distributed 19.5 million of condoms free. Emption of one milliard condoms in the last year has been the biggest one in the world. It is evidence that Brazil is really interested in problems about venereal diseases. There had been some arguments before the carnival started, for example dispute about wages of cops whose have been liable for security in the streets or about one samba group with float featuring Holocaust victims.Visitors could meet there famous stars like Lucy Liu, Monica Bellucci or supermodel Naomi Campbell. Beauty Queen Angela Bismarchi inserted nylon wires into her eyes in order to look more oriental. She wants to set the world's record for most surgeries. It has been her 42 plastic surgery but record stands at 47. I really wish to visit Rio, see and feel the atmosphere of carnival and I think that there are a lot of people whose have the same wish and I hope that one day we will visit the wonderful carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
