Chris Cantell Discusses Travel: Do you want to see wildlife? Go to Alaska!
by Barbora Misakova

Wildlife; we all know what this word means but only few of us can clearly tell us something more about brown bears, eagles, wild rabbits, whales or otters. Only few of us could even see it on own eyes and even though books can give us plenty of information it has nothing to do in comparison with the real, living animal, we can watch in its natural surrounding. If you belong to those who want to see all those nature miracles, go to Alaska & that's the place where you can be a witness of wildlife. Alaska with its extreme northwest location and more than 570,000 square miles land area is the largest state in the U.S. Now when almost every piece of our planet is inhabited by incredible number of people, full of cars, houses and business centers, only few places stayed unspotted by human hand, or at least not so much as other parts of the world. Alaska is one of them. It has only few road connections in comparison with the rest of the U.S., and people still use there dogsled although now it is more sport than method of transport. Anyway Alaska is a place where you can see real nature. A lot of people travel there to see wildlife; the problem is they are sure they will see it. The truth is you have to put yourself in the right place at the right time. If you are expecting line-up of bears you will be probably disappointed, but as soon as you are coming here with hope, but still prepared for the possibility you will see nothing, you have the biggest chance come away from here with incredible experience and lot of photographs. If you want to see otters you could maybe go with the Sea Otter Quest from Sitka town, which offers 100 percent guarantee you will see them. During the summer you will have no problems to see whales, even some of the excursions guarantee money-back if you don't see them on your own eyes. If you would like to see living bear, it could be a little problem. There is no guarantee you will see them what also says most of the excursions which are usually called "bear search" rather than "bear watch". Those who have already had that luck and saw the bears say the basic mistake is to go out with the thought "I paid for it $100 so I must see them!"
