Chris Cantell Discusses Travel: Atlantis is prepared for launch day by Terezia Palickova

NASA (Jan. 30): "Our Managers formally set the launch of space shuttle Atlantis for Feb. 7 "At 2:45 p.m. EST. should start the Spaceship. But there is one problem. During inspection on Tuesday it was found a braided metal hose, which carries Freon to cool the shuttle's system. The problem was fixed. And the inspectors will meet at Saturday to evaluate all information about the hose again. The Space Shuttle Program Manager Wayne Hale says: "I'm feeling very positive we'll come to a good conclusion." So it seems that there are no other problems which could stop the vehicle from its flight. Stephen Frick is the one who will enjoy the beautiful view of the Earth from the space. "It's just astounding and amazing" he says. "It's more beautiful than the highest mountaintop you have ever seen. " The very critical moment as he says was his first mission. As they were flying above the Pacific he just realized the real beauty and hugeness of it and than suddenly he saw the Hawaiian Island passing underneath them. It was the best sight ever. "It really burned into my memory". He also describes his feelings when he first stood on the board. He always feels very busy at the beginning of the flight. He also feels a little uncomfortable in the special suit looking into the never ending darkness of the space in front of them. So, for now there is everything prepared for the next launch to the space, everybody from NASA is really excited and can't wait till Feb. 7.
