All we create is ambivalent!
by Barbora Misakova
The human kind is just weird. We are able to create incredible piece of work, but what is really unique on it is its ambivalence. Just look at the biggest cruise ship ever sailing: The Oasis of the Seas. This $1.5 billion cruise ship is just unique object. There is no doubt. With its ice rink, small golf course, 750-seat outdoor amphitheater, indoor theater with 1,300 seats, four swimming pools, volleyball and basketball courts, youth zone with theme parks, nurseries for children and 2,700 cabins which can accommodate 6,300 passengers and 2,100 crew members The Oasis of the Seas represents little city. Cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows which enable you to watch every sin! gle move on the ship and with balconies overlooking the sea or promenades offer incredible sight as well. What is more this 20 stories high ship have telescopic smokestacks! That makes from it really unique human creation. Thanks to these smokestacks the ship had no problems to pass below The Great Belt Bridge in Denmark. Bridge operators informed there were less than a 2-foot (half-meter) gap but nothing fell off or was damaged! On the other hand, this floating extravaganza is not only spoiling consumers and supporting particularly rich elites, but it is also damaging the environment in a great style! There is also a question what will passenger have from the cruise if all he sees are just shopping malls, bars and restaurants. Where is the real connection with nature and the ocean? Where is the feeling of breeze on your face and after all where is the respect to the power of nature?
