Enjoy your flight, but pay first!
by Barbora Misakova
For those who use planes as common, if not daily transport, selection of seat might be one of the most important matters. While some prefer sitting near the window, where the whole world lies open, others might rather get an aisle seat just not to bother another passenger every time they need to pee. Another important aspect you should consider is legroom. I was travelling by plane only twice in my life, and although I am only 165 centimeters high, there was painfully too little space for my legs. Sure, if the flight takes about 50 minutes, there is nothing you couldn’t bear. But beware! There are new “selection” fees and extra charges when you want to sit! in a certain locations in the aircraft. But the fact you paid more does not have to mean you will also get more! Some airlines charge passengers for selecting a seat, but any kind of seat. That means you can choose your place, but you will have just that less legroom like other passengers with the only one difference: they didn’t pay for it. In general, the best place to sit on a plane is in the front. You will likely experience a quieter ride and less turbulence as the plane is more stable in that part. And if you belong to those who fear the worst, statistics show you have a better chance to survive a plane crash in the front. Also seats in the emergency exit rows are good choice, because usually offer extra space for stretching the legs. But before you chose your seat, chose the airlines first. Many of them are charging fees for actually nothing!
