Europe wakes up, Iceland fears another eruption.
by Milota Sidorova

Up to 10 kilometers heigh rose the dust from Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull. Although it blocked out the most of aviation lines all over Europe, meteorologists from Carl's University Prague, Czech Republic showed enthusiasm the dust didn't enter the stratosphere and therefor it couldn't change the weather for next months. Because strong volcano eruptions caused extremely cold summer periods in the past. Dust in the air covered the sun and prevented from sunlight. If you think about the impact, lowering of sunlight causes direct loss on vegetation and harvest. Those years were “poor and hungry”. So far, this hasn't been the case of this year. Although volcano! is awake and produce huge cloud of dust and sand, a lot of European airports have reopened their check-ins late Monday. Still, the traffic is distant from the normal level and according meteorologists it will take weeks. Airports face crowds of people who got jammed for five days – there is no comfort for them, because if the flight was cancelled, they had had to buy a new ticket or to waited until the next flight was free. But this was not going to happen with more than 95,000 cancelled flights. Icelandic people however deal with bigger problems. This island is entirely dependent on foreign products and import – shutting the whole traffic, this can be a real problem for already troubled country. Farmers on countryside deal with heartbreaking decisions. Because of thick layer of dust that changed green plains into grey cemeteries, the animals can't feed. Farmers can't keep them, so the certain death is waiting for them. Here we can talk about environmental cris! is as well. But this was not the first volcanic eruption on Ic! eland. T he last major eruption took place in 1918 when nearby volcano Katla woke up. This time, scientists Eyjafjallajokull could pull the trigger and wake its sister Katla as well. The ground is not sleeping and instead of one eruption there is a chance for two volcanos showing their power.
