Hawaiian people are not satisfied with the way of tourism progress. Tourism grows up here into industry. The state's biggest industry. Living in 24/7 resort causes some negatives which are noisy neighbors, increasing prices of home and rental costs and destroy the traditional community sense. These new people change everyday. There is no time for knowing them better. They do not join activities of Hawaiian people. The parts as Oahu, Maui and Kauai became places of two parts. One of them is for short-term rental suits the other one is against them. People who run the bed and breakfast or other type of short-term housing say it is not because it help them get rich. It is a way how to pay mortgages or other bills. Many of them have never had a problem with noise and their guests always use to keep house rules. Problems of owners and neighbors grew up into confrontations and lawsuits. The situation is really complicated, because people do not want to fight with own neighbors or lure away tourists, but on the other side they want to live quiet life. Bed and breakfast are only a small part of tourism in Hawaii. The biggest one are hotels. There are available about 73.000 units prepared for visitors. Another problem is with illegal rental suits. There were found more than 4.000 illegal short-term units in most frequented parts of Hawaii in 2005. Bed and breakfast suites are very popular because of their low price. They are available from 80 dollars per night until in a hotel tourists have to pay nearly 200 dollars per night. But there should be completely another situation in close future. All three areas are going to change the way of getting permits for short-term rental suits and bed and breakfast rooms. Owners will be not able to run their business outside of certain resort areas and if they run their business outside a residential districts, they will have to pay nearly quadruple taxes like an equivalent to a hotel rate.
