Next Space Tourist Begins Training for Spaceflight
by Luba Svata
Space Adventures is the world `s leading space experiences company and it is takes place in Vienna with an office in Moscow. In 2001, they started organizing commercial missions to the space. Tis company organized the space flights for the world ` s first private space explorers: Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, Greg Olsen, Anousheh Ansari and Charles Simonyi. Now, the next orbital space flight client became the computer game developer Richard Garriott. He is 46 years old and is one of the most famous game developers and publishers. A lot of people are interested in flying to the space, but at this time Richard had the luck. He is the sun of a former astronaut Owen Garriott. May be this is why he has such an interest of seeing the space. Flying to the space is very interesting, but a little dangerous too. All people have to get through education and training. Richard has to go through all these too, but he is excited about that. True, he has nothing else to do anyway and with his fat bank account he has to nothing to do the rest of his life. His flight is planned on October and he has already begun with his training in Yuri Gagarin Training Center in Star City, Russia. How far one can go, if he wishes to let his dreams come true. Richard is looking forward for his flight. He feels very honored about his stay in Russia, and he promised to learn as much as possible. He finds all the stuff he is doing in Russia very interesting, so it wont be a problem for him. Only a few people can worth such a luxury. The flight and all the required trainings and education cost him 30 million American dollars. Nothing real for a regular human being. After everyone found out that Richard Garriott is going to fly to the space a lot of corporations and non-profits started contacting the Space Adventures because they wanted to participate in Richard` s space mission. People who are interested, including commercial parties and non-profits can take apart in Richard` s space flight as you can see on his web site (www.richardinspace.com). Mr. Garriott will be updating this web site continuously. You can see there a lot of amazing videos and pictures. Blog entries and individuals can ask questions or suggestions for Richard `s mission activities. Well, we all wish you good luck Richard!
