New space tourist is going to taste the universe
by Edina Erdelyiova

The son of former NASA astronaut Owen Garriott is going to try the weightless condition. He will be the next American space tourist of the International Space station (ISS). Richard Garriott, a creator of the Ultima series of online computer games, doesn ' t feel terrified about his space journey. According to his words, the incoming event seems to be quite trouble free. His work will consist of performing protein crystallization and Earth observation experiments and he will also have to make a photographic collection of sites, which his father observed from Skylab 30 years ago. Garriott' s payment of $30 million, which he had to lay down, responds to his interest and ambition for the space research. Two professional spaceflyers will also launch to the ISS with him thanks to this amount of money. Althought Richard doesn' t expect major difficulties, there can appear some problem in communication. As Garriott is an American citizen and he has never learned any foreign language except his mother tongue, the Russian language can be a hard nut to crack for him. To avoid unpleasant situations and to do his best for the journey, he is going to study not just the working conditions of Russsian Soyuz spacecraft, but also the Russian language. Garriott is also a big fan of Russian cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, commander of Expedition 17. Volkov, if all goes according to plan, will return to Earth with the U. S. space tourist later this autumn. Garrriott hopes to know him personal and as he said, he would work hard to get a chance to meet him just before he flies. Because Richard wants to note his big experience with ISS and all the happenings during his flight for the people, who are also interested in things like this, he will enable his chronicle of spaceflight training and mission. The persons concerned can read it at his personal Web site: www.richardinspace.com. Edina Erdélyiová
