Imagine the situation: During the year you can't wait to see your friends whose are from Washington. You have met them last summer and they invited you to come there for holidays in December. Yes, that is great idea and you can't believe that today is the day with "D" and you are leaving for 2 weeks. Packing was quite quick. You are waiting on the aiport thinking about your friends from Washington..."What will I say them? I hope they will like my presents for them!..." Suddenly, you realise that it's too late and your flight is supposed to be here. Then you look at board. "Delay", oh no! Ok, it doesn't matter. You will buy some magazines. But after waiting over 4 hours your flight has been canceled. You are so dissapointed. Maybe you will meet your friends the next year...if you get there... Yes, it is not very nice situation and always when I travel somewhere I wish to not happen it. But it is very possible and people in USA are used to wait on an airport. More than 26 percent of commercial flights arrived late or were canceled last year. Specially in Decenber, it is the most critic month mostly because of the wheather. Passengers had problem to get to their destination in 2000 as well, when more than 27 percent of flights were tardy or canceled. In comparison with year 2007, there were 31 percent fewer flights than in 2007. So we can say that year 2007 is the second worst year. And reason? There are more reasons like just only one. One is that airlines continue to replace large aircraft with smaller ones. By this way they want to save some money by flying with fewer empty seats. But there are also disadvantages & more flights, more congestion and delays. It should be fixed early because people are angry, there is nothing to do if your flight late and airlines are losing their profits.
